UNA ANÁLISIS DE LA CORRELACIÓN ENTRE LA PARIDAD DEL PODER DE COMPRA Y LA EMISIÓN DE GASES DE EFECTO INVERNADERO

La emisión de GEI y su relación con el desempeño de un país es un tema de gran relevancia. Los estudios que abordan esta temática analizan factores internos y su relación con las emisiones de CO₂ en determinadas regiones. A pesar de los enfoques mencionados, se observa cierta escasez de investigaciones orientadas a la influencia del sector externo en los niveles de emisión de un país. Dada la importancia del tema, el presente estudio busca probar la existencia de correlación entre la variación de la PPC y las emisiones de GEI para cinco sectores de la economía brasileña. Adicionalmente, consiste en probar la existencia de correlación entre el aumento del poder adquisitivo de la moneda tras el Plan Real y el nivel doméstico de emisiones de GEI. Los resultados indicaron que, entre los sectores analizados, solo Cambios en el Uso de la Tierra y Bosques no presentó una correlación significativa. En lo que respecta a las emisiones totales, estas no mostraron correlación con el fortalecimiento del real en el período considerado.
