The promotion and protection of human rights in Africa constitute one of the main challenges of contemporary International Relations, especially in a context marked by institutional fragilities, armed conflicts, and complex political dynamics. This article analyzes the role played by international organizations, particularly the United Nations, the African Union, and non-governmental organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, in promoting human rights on the African continent. Through a qualitative methodology, based on documentary analysis and a review of recent literature, the study examines the institutional mechanisms, normative instruments, and concrete impacts of these organizations on guaranteeing and protecting human rights in Africa. However, despite significant advances in building a robust normative framework, the practical effectiveness of these institutions remains limited by several factors, notably: state sovereignty, insufficient coercive mechanisms, lack of political will, and the endless conflicts that plague the African continent.
