Abstract

This article aims to analyze the importance of traditional games in school Physical Education, considering the perspective of the body culture of movement. The Course Conclusion Work, in the form of a scientific article, represents a fundamental step in academic training, contributing to theoretical deepening and the development of critical thinking. School Physical Education plays an essential role in the integral formation of students, promoting physical, emotional, cognitive and social development, as well as the construction of values important for coexistence in society. In this context, the body culture of movement encompasses different manifestations, such as games, sports, dances, fights and gymnastics, among which traditional games stand out for their cultural and educational character. Traditional games are playful practices transmitted between generations, reflecting customs, histories and cultural identities. In the Alto Solimões region, these practices are present in indigenous and riverside communities, including games such as tug-of-war, hide-and-seek, races, recreational archery and games with handcrafted balls. However, a reduction in the practice of these games is observed due to technological advancements and changes in lifestyles, which reinforces the importance of the school as a space for valuing, preserving, and reinterpreting these cultural practices.
