This essay discusses some of the theoretical and historical elements about conservatism. The aim of this study is to analyze how these ideas are manifested in society and their stance in relation to social transformations. For this purpose, a bibliography review has been used in order to bring together the theoretical framework relevant to the theme, identifying conservatism permanence in Brazil in recent decades.
