Editorial Workflow
Evaluation Process and Editorial Workflow: Boletim de Conjuntura Journal
The Boletim de Conjuntura (BOCA) journal maintains a strict commitment to the quality of its publications and to ethics in scientific research. Below, we outline the stages that make up our manuscript processing workflow:
Submission Stages
- Technical and Scope Screening: The manuscript undergoes an initial screening to verify its alignment with the journal’s editorial line, compliance with formatting guidelines, and conformity with integrity criteria (plagiarism prevention and originality check).
- Double-Blind Peer Review: Once approved in the screening stage, the Editor-in-Chief forwards the manuscript to experts in the field. Evaluation is carried out under a double-blind system, preserving the anonymity of both authors and reviewers.
- Review Report and Revision: The content of the review reports is examined by the editorial board under principles of transparency and academic respect. If improvements are suggested, authors will be guided regarding the necessary adjustments.
Deadlines and Timeline
We value the balance between rigorous evaluation and editorial agility:
- Feedback to Authors: The deadline for sending editorial decisions is up to 30 days.
- Publication Cycle: The estimated time to complete the entire editorial workflow (from submission to conclusion) varies between 30 and 60 days. Any extensions due to exceptional circumstances will be communicated to the authors.
Final Procedures and Fees
After final validation of the manuscript and conformity verification:
- Authors are notified to pay the submission fee.
- Once the payment is confirmed and the final version is received, the article is integrated into the journal’s editorial schedule.
Dossier Projects
BOCA accepts proposals for thematic dossiers. The project must be formally submitted for evaluation by the Administration and Editorial Board (approval by simple majority). Dossiers follow the same standards of excellence and rigor as continuous flow articles, and include specialized advisory support.
