In this essay, an idea of “Cultural Marxism” is discussed based on the common reference of right-wing intellectuals in different countries and countries in Brazil, cited by members of the current federal government. It seeks to show the philosophically idealistic and politically reactive character of this ideology analyzing its origin in relation to the criticism of the rise of the bourgeois revolutions mainly at the end of the 18th century, and to the conservative ideas defended by developers of the dictatorship started with the 1964 coup.
