The number of HIV cases has grown rapidly among young people and adolescents, a population that stands out with a higher prevalence and experiences situations of greater vulnerability, requiring programmatic responses to control the infection, especially with improvement and advancement in prevention strategies, so that to meet your demands. This article is part of a doctoral thesis in nursing at the Federal University of Piauí and aimed to develop and validate an informative application about the human immunodeficiency virus for the knowledge of university students. It is a technological production research containing application development for mobile technology. The product was evaluated for quality and usability by health professionals with experience in the human immunodeficiency virus and IT professionals, using the Learning Object Review Instrument and heuristics. The mobile application was called Educaids, developed in the Java programming language of the Android platform. All application items were considered adequate in the quality assessment (p?0.05). Overall adequacy was 95.6% (p=0.99). In the usability assessment, it was observed that the judges agreed on all items regarding adequacy, with an overall assessment of 90% (p=0.94). The application was considered valid and effective in informing university students about the human immunodeficiency virus.
