Abstract

This text is a book review of “The Republic of Militias”. The work aims to promote the debate on the functioning of the militias in the city of Rio de Janeiro, as well as their interference in other criminal organizations such as the “jogo do bicho” and drug trafficking, and also, the militias interfere in the state executive command.
