OS CIENTISTAS SOCIAIS NO COMBATE AO CORONAVÍRUS E CONTRA A NECROPOLÍTICA: PRIMEIRAS BATALHAS

The pandemic of the new coronavirus requires several actions and responses, as the virus spreads and causes several social, economic and political consequences. In this context, social scientists who study the phenomena related to society are essential, as they are strategic for understanding the distribution and spread of the epidemic in a given social space. Thus, this essay aims to analyze, from an exploratory and descriptive research, the first reflections produced by social scientists in the face of the challenge of combating the adverse effects of the pandemic that already affect the Brazilian population. The results show that researchers are focusing their attention on issues related to: fear; scales; the risks to the Indians; the precariousness of work promoted by the State; violence against women during quarantine; with the accelerated scientific dissemination; and necropolitics as a government practice.
